December and January! - November 28, 2007

Hey folks:

While I am listening to not so great holiday music on the radio (just can't listen to the Chipmunks one more time)
I am gearing up for a SONGWRITING WORKSHOP in January.

Have you ever wanted to learn how to write a song, or just wanted to get better at your own songwriting conference. Well, this songwriting workshop is for you!
This course is designed to make guitar playing easy and take the mystery out of songwriting. Some guitar experience is required, although each session will begin with the basic components of the guitar, finger position and placement.

We will come up with song ideas; deconstruct the basic components of a song, use lyric and music writing exercises and build a song, piece by piece.

This is a fun, safe environment for learning about the songwriting process and aiding in getting those creative juices flowing.

At the end of the three weeks, students will have an opportunity to perform their song in front of an audience. This workshop is limited to 10 participants.

If you want to sign up, go here: www.greatsouthernmusic.net or call 352-505-5440

happy fall! - September 16, 2007

hey everybody! I just wanted to let you know about an upcoming show through Wild Iris Books. It's their very first Women's Festival and it's going to rock out! I will
(hopefully) be putting out a new sound & I am really excited.

I have also been deeply concerned about what is happening in Iraq and well, I am praying for peace.

What about you?

take care,

Amanda

But, some cool news: I was cast in the part of Pitt-sing in a musical called the "Hot Mikado". It's a jazzed-up-40's style-can't-help-but-get-out-of-your-seat-and -dance show and you really don't want to miss it. It's Gilbert and Sullivan meet Charlie Parker. Yikes.
